Hackers leak details of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC packs
Hackers previously revealed details about the planned DLC packs for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including the involvement of supervillain The Beetle. A recent update accidentally confirmed this leak, sparking even more interest among fans eager for new content.
Leaked concept art of The Beetle
A Reddit user, KekanKok, shared concept art of The Beetle on Saturday, giving players a glimpse of what to expect from this new antagonist. Although the image was removed, Twitter user @Immortal_Boss73 also shared the concept art on the platform. The leaked concept art indicates that Spider-Man 2 will feature the Janice Lincoln version of The Beetle, with a design that pays homage to previous power-armored versions.
Throughout Marvel’s history, several characters have taken on the mantle of Beetle, with Abner Jenkins being the most notable. However, Janice Lincoln, the daughter of the villain Tombstone, has held the title in the comics since 2010. It comes as no surprise that her character serves as the inspiration for the version of The Beetle players will encounter in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, was released for the PlayStation 5 last October. Despite its numbering, the game technically serves as the third installment in the series, acting as a sequel to the 2020 Miles Morales spinoff. The game follows Peter and Miles as they battle the villain Kraven the Hunter, with Peter ultimately becoming infected with the Venom symbiote.
Receiving numerous positive reviews, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also garnered several awards and nominations, with notable wins including the DICE awards for Animation, Audio Design, Character, Music, Technical Achievement, and Action Game of the Year.
