Ubisoft has revealed that the highly anticipated game Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on August 30, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

During a world premiere YouTube video today (April 9), Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment unveiled the official story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws. This trailer offered a glimpse into the open-world gameplay experience, taking place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The trailer introduces us to Kay Vess, the main playable character in Outlaws, who navigates the challenges of life as a thief in a galaxy ruled by the Empire. Alongside her companion Nix, Kay explores various planets in the Outer Rim region.

We also get a glimpse of other key characters in the game, such as Sliro, the leader of the crime syndicate Zerek Besh, who appears to be a central antagonist. The storyline revolves around Kay’s mission to rob Sliro’s fortune to secure her freedom.

The trailer showcases exciting gameplay elements like space battles, speeder traversal, and exploration of diverse planets. Players will visit familiar locations like Canto Bight and Tattooine, as well as new landscapes within the Star Wars universe.

In addition to combat with a blaster, Kay can climb structures, engage in stealth tactics, and utilize a grappling hook for traversal. Players can also command Nix to assist in missions, adding strategic depth to gameplay.

Pre-orders for Star Wars Outlaws are now available for Gold and Ultimate Editions, both including a Season Pass and early access. The pre-order bonus pack, ‘The Kessel Runner,’ unlocks exclusive in-game content like a ship and speeder.

The Season Pass offers two upcoming story DLC packs, immediate access to the ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission, and cosmetics for Kay and Nix. The trailer hints at encounters with iconic Star Wars characters like Jabba the Hutt and Han Solo, raising anticipation for the game’s storyline.

Earlier today, the release date for Star Wars Outlaws was accidentally leaked through the Ubisoft Japan YouTube video description, along with pre-order details. Despite the leak being swiftly taken down, fans are now eagerly awaiting the game’s arrival.
