World of Warcraft: The War Within beta testing sign-ups are now open

If you’re eager to jump into the depths of World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, The War Within, you now have the chance to do so before its official release through beta testing sign-ups.

The War Within, revealed at the previous year’s BlizzCon, is the first chapter of the Worldsoul Saga in World of Warcraft’s series of expansions planned for the upcoming years. In this expansion, players will journey into the core of Azeroth, discovering new underground realms, encountering ancient civilizations like the Earthen Dwarves – a new Allied race – and the formidable Nerubians of Azj-Kahet.

Some of the new features announced include Delves for 1-5 players, Warbands to share resources among alternate characters, dynamic flight for mounts, new dungeons and raids, Hero Talents, and more.

Blizzard has revealed that beta testing for The War Within will commence before its full release later this year, and interested players can register for a chance to participate on the official website. Throughout the testing phase, more invitations will be sent out regularly, ensuring that everyone has a fair opportunity to join.

To begin beta testing The World Within, players need to follow these steps as outlined by Blizzard:

  • Ensure graphics drivers are up to date
  • Launch the desktop app and update it if necessary
  • Select World of Warcraft from the game list in
  • Choose The War Within from the Game Version drop-down menu, under In Development, and click Install
  • Complete the installation process, click Play, and select a Test Server
  • Create a new test character or import an existing Dragonflight character
  • Enter the game and explore the available content

While the exact release date for World of Warcraft’s The War Within expansion is yet to be announced, Blizzard’s roadmap suggests a potential launch in the “summer” season. The beta test announcement simply states that the expansion will be available “on or before December 31, 2024”.
