Fastest Way to Complete the Midnight Ride Quest in Destiny 2

Hand Cannons have always been a popular choice in Destiny 2 for taking on both high-density mob situations in PVE and racking up kills in PVP. The latest addition to the arsenal is the Midnight Ride quest, offering players the chance to unlock the Midnight Coup, a beloved Hand Cannon from Destiny 2 Year 1. To kick off this quest, players must complete one of the following objectives assigned by Arcite 99-40 in the Hall of Champions:

  • Rapidly defeat combatants using Hand Cannons anywhere in the system. Bonus progress for rapid final blows in Onslaught.
  • Defeat Guardians using Hand Cannons.

Compared to previous quests like Climbing the Mountaintop, the objectives in Midnight Ride can be completed relatively quickly. Players can head to common farming locations such as the Shuro Chi encounter in the Last Wish Raid or the Divalian Mists in the Dreaming City to farm kills with their Hand Cannons. Utilizing Onslaught mode along with a powerful Hand Cannon can expedite the quest completion in just a few waves.

Use the Sunshot in any Onslaught map

For an efficient completion of the quest, consider using the Sunshot Hand Cannon or other similar options like Malfeasance, Fatebringer, or Ace of Spades. The key is to create explosions with your Hand Cannon that result in quick kills, aligning with the quest’s primary objective. Sunshot’s abilities make it a standout choice for this task.

Choosing any Onslaught map for this quest can yield great results. Maps like Midtown and Vostok offer close-quarter combat for maximizing kill instances, while Mothyards provide open spaces for more opportunities to eliminate enemies without competition among Guardians.
