Microsoft Announces Xbox Games Showcase Livestream
Microsoft has announced the timing of the next Xbox Games Showcase, to be livestreamed on June 9 at 1 pm ET. This event will coincide with the start of Summer Game Fest on June 7, featuring livestreams and in-person events in Los Angeles. Just like last year, the showcase will be followed by a deep dive into an upcoming game, reportedly Call of Duty.
Call of Duty Fans Speculate on Next Game
While not officially confirmed, there is extensive speculation among Call of Duty fans that the upcoming game will be Call of Duty Black Ops Gulf War. The excitement within the Call of Duty fandom is palpable, with many noting how long it has been since the franchise was showcased in this manner.
“Last time Call of Duty was part of Xbox Showcase was Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in June 2014,” wrote CharlieIntel, a prominent figure in the Call of Duty community.
Call of Duty Returns to the Spotlight
It’s significant for Call of Duty to once again be featured prominently in Xbox’s lineup, especially considering it was outsold by another game for the first time last year. Despite this, Call of Duty remains a top-selling game in the United States, making it a safe bet for inclusion in Xbox’s showcase.
Exciting Lineup from Microsoft
Aside from the Call of Duty reveal, Microsoft’s showcase will also feature titles from their array of studios, including Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios, as well as offerings from third-party partners.
