Zynga’s Star Wars: Hunters finally arrives in June after years of delays

Star Wars: Hunters Release Date Announced

Zynga’s highly anticipated free-to-play 4v4 arena shooter, Star Wars: Hunters, has finally received a release date after several delays. The game is scheduled to launch on June 4th for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms.

Initially revealed in March 2021, Star Wars: Hunters was expected to release later that same year. However, multiple delays pushed the launch date into 2022, then 2023, and eventually to 2024 as Zynga aimed to meet the high expectations set for the game. Now, over three years since its original announcement, the game is ready for its official release.

At launch, Star Wars: Hunters will offer three classes – damage, support, and tank – on five distinct battlefields for intense 4v4 third-person action. Players can expect to battle in locations such as the Ewok village, the Dune Sea Outpost on Tatooine, Death Star Crossfire with X-wings and TIE fighters, and the Vandor Railyard set in an Imperial Railcrawler Facility.

The game will also introduce four game modes upon release. Squad Brawl challenges teams to reach 20 eliminations first, while Dynamic Control involves capturing rotating Control Points. Power Control focuses on holding these points, and Trophy Chase tasks teams with holding the TR0-F33 Trophy Droid to reach 100 percent. Notably, the Huttball mode, previously teased for inclusion, has not been mentioned.

Although Zynga has not provided a full list of characters available at launch, the latest trailer suggests that all previously revealed Hunters, including a Wookie, droid Jedi, Jawas duo, Mon Calamari, and Rodian cartel doctor, will be featured in the game.

More information is expected to be released as the launch date of Star Wars: Hunters on June 4th approaches for Switch, iOS, and Android platforms.
