Redfall Passes 1-Year Anniversary, Promised DLC Heroes Still Nowhere In Sight

Redfall Still Missing DLC One Year After Release

It has been a year since Redfall was released on PC and Xbox Series X|S, but players are still waiting for promised DLC and additional content.

Players on ResetEra have noticed that the Bite Back Digital Edition of the game included the Redfall Hero Pass, which was supposed to provide access to two future heroes. However, developer Arkane Austin has remained silent on when these additions will be available.

The most significant update for Redfall thus far was a patch released six months after launch, which introduced stealth takedowns, fixed bugs, and added accessibility features. Since then, the game has not received many substantial updates.

It is possible that the lack of updates for Redfall is a result of its mediocre reception and negative reviews. Reports indicate that the development of Redfall faced challenges from the beginning, with around 70% of the staff who worked on Prey (2017) departing before the completion of Redfall.

In GameSpot’s review of Redfall, it was stated, “Ultimately, Redfall is a game that should not have been released yet. Its litany of bugs hampers the gameplay loop of exploring its world with friends, and that loop itself feels compromised by elements that are poorly executed and ill-suited to the team implementing them.”
