Redfall DLC and Updates in Jeopardy After Xbox Announcement
Arkane Austin, the studio responsible for Redfall, was actively working on a roadmap to enhance the game before news broke that Xbox would be closing four studios, including Arkane Austin.
Reports from IGN indicate that the team was in the process of developing DLC and updates that were set to be released soon. Unfortunately, with the recent studio closures, it seems unlikely that players will ever see these planned improvements. Among the updates in the pipeline were two new characters slated to be introduced through the Hero Pass by Halloween.
One of the significant updates in the works was the addition of an offline mode, a feature that had been hinted at previously. In an interview with Eurogamer, Redfall’s game director, Harvey Smith, mentioned that the team was actively addressing this issue and had plans to rectify it in the near future.
Fortunately, Arkane Studios has assured players who purchased the Bit Back Edition, priced at $100 USD, that they will be compensated for the value of the promised upgrades. For more details on how to claim your credit, visit the official Arkane Studios X/Twitter account.
The announcement of Xbox’s studio closures came as a surprise to many in the gaming community, with several developers expressing shock at the news.
