Evil Empire delays The Rogue Prince of Persia so players can “have their fun” with Hades 2

The Rogue Prince of Persia Delayed to Avoid Clash with Hades 2

The Rogue Prince of Persia has faced a last-minute delay in its early access release to prevent competition with the highly popular Hades 2.

Evil Empire made an announcement on X / Twitter today (May 10) explaining the decision to push back the launch from May 14 to a later date in May. The unexpected release of Hades 2 Early Access played a significant role in this choice.

“Seeing the immense popularity of that game (even our team…and their moms are playing it), we have opted to give players a chance to enjoy Hades 2 before introducing The Rogue Prince of Persia,” the statement revealed.

The studio acknowledged the impact of a game like Hades 2 launching just a week before their planned release, stating that they believe the short delay is in the best interest of their Early Access journey.

Evil Empire reconfirmed that The Rogue Prince of Persia will still launch this month, with an update scheduled for Monday, May 13 to unveil the new release date.

The delay not only allows the developers to implement additional features but also address more bugs in the game. The day one patch was noted to be quite substantial, and the extra time for testing has relieved pressure on the producer and game director.

Although disappointing for eager players anticipating the game’s release, the studio expressed regret and hope that fans will understand, promising that the game will be worth the wait.

The Rogue Prince of Persia will be available on Steam. In a preview, Hardware Editor Rhys Wood praised the game’s presentation, highlighting its vibrant colors, smooth animations, and captivating soundtrack that blends traditional Middle Eastern tones with electronic beats.
