How to fix the windowed mode resolution bug in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals Alpha Test Hits Snag with Resolution Bug

Netease’s latest game, Marvel Rivals, has entered its pre-launch alpha test phase, allowing lucky players to dive into this Overwatch-style hero shooter set in the Marvel universe. However, like many alpha versions, there are some kinks that need to be worked out.

Resolution Woes in Marvel Rivals

If you’re one of the players experiencing issues with changing the resolution in Marvel Rivals, particularly if you have an ultrawide monitor or a multi-monitor setup, there’s a workaround you can try until Netease releases a patch for this bug.

How to Fix the Resolution Bug in Marvel Rivals

If you find yourself stuck in windowed mode with no resolution options available, close the game and adjust your desktop resolution to 1920×1080. Once you restart the game, navigate to the graphics settings menu from the main menu and select ‘borderless windowed’ to enjoy fullscreen gameplay at 1080p.

To play Marvel Rivals in 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratios, simply switch back to your monitor’s native resolution after setting the game to borderless windowed mode. This trick will fill your entire display seamlessly.

While Marvel Rivals shines on ultrawide monitors, the UI may not be fully scalable or customizable. Until an official fix is implemented, players will need to follow these steps each time they launch the game.
