Microsoft Signs Deal to Bring Two Games to Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft has partnered with publisher CI Games to make Lords of the Fallen and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 available on Xbox Game Pass.
According to a financial note from CI Games on May 3, the deal was finalized, although Microsoft has not officially confirmed it yet.
At this time, the terms of the agreement have not been made public, so it remains unclear when these games will be added to Xbox Game Pass. However, it is speculated that they may be available as early as 2024. Additionally, it is not confirmed whether these titles will be added to Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, or both platforms.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a tactical stealth shooter that was released in June 2021 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A PS5 version was launched in August.
Lords of the Fallen, developed by Hexworks, is the latest game from CI Games. This Soulslike action role-playing game was released in October for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Recently, it received its final free update titled Master of Fate, as part of its content roadmap.
Earlier reports indicated that CI Games had laid off 30 employees, despite experiencing its “best year” in terms of revenue. The publisher had previously cut 10% of its workforce months ago. However, CI Games assured that this latest round of layoffs would not impact Hexworks or the development of its upcoming action role-playing game, Project 3.
There have been discussions about a potential price increase for Xbox Game Pass, particularly for its Ultimate tier. The last price adjustment occurred in July 2023.
