If you already own a shiny Abra or any of its evolved forms, chances are you participated in Abra Community Day back in April 2020. While the first few evolutions show only a subtle difference when shiny, Alakazam and its Mega form stand out with prominent pink accents that truly make them shine.

What’s the Shiny Rate for Abra in Pokémon Go?

Based on past research from The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), the shiny rate for Pokémon on a regular day is estimated to be around one in 500. Although Abra is not confirmed to have a “permaboost” for its shiny rate, making it a rare spawn with a standard shiny rate.

How Can I Increase My Chances of Finding Shiny Pokémon?

Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do to attract more shiny Pokémon. The appearance of shiny Pokémon is essentially random, with catch rates determined by Niantic. Shiny rates are typically boosted during special events like Community Days, Safari Zones, or Legendary Raids. There are no items you can use to increase shiny Pokémon rates.
