Ubisoft has unveiled exciting details about the highly anticipated game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, alongside the release of its official trailer. Set in 16th century Japan, this open-world RPG introduces two unique protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.
Unlike previous iterations of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Shadows allows players to embody historical figures. The game’s director, Charles Benoit, emphasizes the dual fantasies of samurai and shinobi, aiming to provide players with a diverse gameplay experience.
Yasuke, a samurai of African descent, enters Japan in 1579, marking the beginning of the game. Drawing inspiration from historical records, the game portrays Yasuke’s interactions with prominent figures of the era, offering players an immersive journey through feudal Japan.
Naoe, on the other hand, is depicted as the daughter of renowned ninja leader Fujibayashi Nagato, representing the Iga province. With a focus on stealth and armed with the iconic hidden blade, Naoe’s character complements the combat-oriented approach of Yasuke.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows boasts distinct playstyles for each protagonist. While Yasuke excels in combat with his combat-focused abilities, Naoe relies on stealth tactics, adding depth to the gameplay experience.
The game is currently available for pre-order, with a scheduled launch date of November 15. Players subscribed to Ubisoft+ or those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition can access the game three days earlier on November 12. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be exclusive to current-generation platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Amazon Luna, and PC.
