If you want to collect rare metals in Diablo 4, look no further than the Pit of Artificers. Season 4 offers players plenty of end-game content to dive into, with these pits resembling Greater Rifts from the previous game. By adjusting the tiers of the Pit, you can increase the difficulty for greater rewards. The main objective is to defeat the boss quickly to acquire special unique metals. Unlocking the Pit of Artificers in Diablo 4
You need at least 3 Runeshards to open Tier 1 of the Pit of Artificers. This may seem simple, but there are two prerequisites you must meet for it to work.
First, you must play the game on World Tier IV (Torment), the highest difficulty level available. Then, complete any Nightmare dungeon of Tier 46 or higher. Once these conditions are met, all you need to do is find Runeshards to activate the portal. Sources where you can find Runeshards include:
- Whisper Caches
- Helltide
- Legion Chests
- Nightmare Dungeons
- World Bosses
Once you have the required Runeshards, follow these steps:
- Open the map and head to Cerrigar.
- Proceed northwest and interact with the Portal Activator (Artificer’s Obelisk).
- Use the Runeshards to activate the Pit when prompted to confirm.
- Choose “Accept”.
- Click on the newly opened Portal to enter the Pit.
- Defeat the boss without dying as much as possible.
Upon entering the Pit, a timer will start. Defeat all enemies and the boss without dying to maximize your rewards. Keep in mind that the more you die, the more time you lose, affecting how long it takes to unlock other Tiers. Depending on the Tier of your Pit, you can receive rewards such as:
- Stygian Stones
- Obducite (Magic Crafting Material)
- Ingolith (Rare Crafting Material)
- Neathiron (Legendary Crafting Material)
Use these materials to upgrade your gear. Stygian Stones can spawn a level 200 version of any end-game boss you choose.
