How to Obtain the Cruor’s Embrace Unique in Diablo 4

There are multiple paths to acquire the Necromancer class’s Cruor’s Embrace in Diablo 4, but siphoning blood from your foes is particularly savage. Here’s a guide on obtaining the Cruor’s Embrace Unique and constructing the best build for it.

Acquiring the Cruor’s Embrace Unique in Diablo 4

Like other Unique items, the Cruor’s Embrace gloves can be obtained as loot by triumphing over enemies and looting chests throughout Sanctuary. This method will work in both World Tier 3 and 4, given that this is a newer Unique. Therefore, reach level 50 and finish the Cathedral of Light Capstone dungeon. While drop rates have been enhanced in Season 4: Loot Reborn, engaging in endgame content such as Legions, World Bosses, and Nightmare Dungeons will optimize your chances.

If you prefer high-risk high-reward scenarios, then confronting and defeating Lord Zir, the Dark Master, will increase your odds. Lord Zir is an endgame boss found only in World Tier 4. You can summon him at The Ancient’s Seal Seat in the Fractured Peaks region using the following materials:

World Tier 4Torment Lord Zir
9x Exquisite Blood: Obtained by defeating World Bosses, completing Legion Events, or vanquishing Blood Maidens in Helltide.27x Exquisite Blood.

2x Stygian Stone: Found in chests after completing The Pit of Artificers runs.

ItemStatsUnique Effect
Cruor’s Embrace+[42.0 – 63.0]% Overpower Damage
+[14.0 – 28.0]% Core Damage
Lucky Hit: Up to a 5% Chance to Heal +[588 – 1,058] Life
+[2 – 3] to Blood Surge
Blood Surge consumes Corpses to cause mini novas, dealing [40 – 56] damage. Damage is increased by 10%[x] per target drained by the initial cast, up to 50%[x]. Damage is also increased by 20%[x] for each Corpse consumed.

There are two recommended builds for implementing the Cruor’s Embrace Unique with the Necromancer class. The first is the Blood Surge Necromancer, while the second is the Blood Surge Minion Necromancer. Although sacrificing Minions can strengthen your Necromancer, recent Minion buffs make them effective in dealing significant damage while keeping your character safe from a distance.

Equip the Paranormal Blood Surge skill, Corpse Tendrils skill, Decrepify Ultimate skill, Rathma’s Vigor Key Passive, and Ring of Sacrilegious Soul. Utilize Decrepify to slow down foes and let your Minions inflict damage. Once they create corpses, the Ring of Sacrilegious Soul will automatically trigger the Corpse Tendrils skill to pull enemies closer. Constantly use Blood Surge, which will generate mini novas thanks to the Cruor’s Embrace, to deal damage, with Rathma’s Vigor enhancing your Blood Surge.

While this may not be the most optimal Necromancer build in the meta, it is still a viable option worth exploring. Ensure to create as many corpses as possible with Skeletal Reapers, Bone Golems, or Bone Mages. Test your build by earning Iron Wolves reputation in Helltides and defeating the awaiting Blood Maidens!
