Resident Evil Infects Apple Platforms with RE7 and RE2 Remake
Resident Evil is making its mark on Apple platforms with the announcement that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the remake of Resident Evil 2 are heading to iOS. The series’ first venture into first-person perspective will debut on July 2, while the RE2 port is currently in the works.
Both games will be compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPads and Macs featuring the M1 chip or newer. Players can expect enhanced controls and a new Auto Fire feature, providing a more accessible option that allows weapons to automatically fire when aimed at enemies. Additionally, RE7 will include the Not A Hero story DLC featuring Chris Redfield. Gamers can also opt for the Gold Edition, which includes extra DLC like End of Zoe, Vol. 1 and 2 of Banned Footage, the challenging Madhouse difficulty mode, and more. To top it off, a free download will be available at launch for players to sample a portion of each game before committing to a purchase.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard made its debut in 2017, following the story of Ethan Winters as he embarks on a terrifying journey to a remote house in search of his missing wife. This game set the stage for the ongoing narrative of the mainline series, which continued in Resident Evil Village. Speaking of Village, both that game and the original Resident Evil were brought to Apple platforms last year.
