Don’t panic! Baldur’s Gate 3 players on PS5 who were affected by the accidental release of Patch 8 can fix their game using this easy solution

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 Issues on PS5

Larian Studios has provided a solution for players of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PlayStation 5 who were impacted by the accidental release of Patch 8.

Although the highly-anticipated update has not been officially launched yet, it was mistakenly made available to PS5 players before the scheduled Patch 8 stress test, leading to confusion among the player base.

In response to the situation, Larian Studios rolled back the update. However, this action may have caused compatibility problems for PS5 users, especially those using mods. Their save games could become unplayable or corrupted.

To address this issue, Larian Studios suggests performing a full reinstallation of the Baldur’s Gate 3 game.

According to Larian, players can identify whether they have the unsupported Patch 8 version by checking for version numbers 01.800.000 or 4.1.1.6583053 in the game’s main menu.

If the unsupported Patch 8 is installed, players may experience issues with multiplayer functionality, mods, and save game compatibility. Creating new saves or overriding existing ones while on Patch 8 could lead to incompatibility with the Patch 7 version.

Patch 8, set to introduce photo mode, cross-play, and 12 new subclasses to Baldur’s Gate 3, was originally announced in November 2024.
