Where to Catch Catfish in Stardew Valley
The most important thing to know is that you can only catch a Catfish while it’s raining. However, you can use Magic Bait to catch one regardless of season, weather, or time of day.
The following locations are where you can catch a Catfish in Stardew Valley:
- The river that passes through Pelican Town and the Cindersap Forest
- The pond in the Secret Forest
- The Witch’s Swamp
While the river is the most accessible location, you can only attempt to catch a Catfish during the Spring and Fall. The Secret Forest and the Witch’s Swamp both allow for Catfish catching during the Spring, Summer, and Fall as long as it is raining. If you use a Rain Totem, you can even catch it in the Winter.
The best time to catch a Catfish is between 6 AM and 12 AM, giving you plenty of time to reel one in.
Other Ways to Get a Catfish
If you’re having trouble catching a Catfish, there are two other ways to obtain one: looting it from Garbage Cans during the Spring and Fall and buying it from the Traveling Cart in Cindersap Forest, though the price can range from 600 to 1k g and the stock is random.
That’s everything you need to know about where to catch Catfish in Stardew Valley!
