To upgrade your weapons, defensive gear, and accessories in Diablo 4, you can visit a Blacksmith NPC or a Jeweler NPC located in any town. At the Blacksmith, look for the “Upgrade Weapons and Armor” tab, while at the Jeweler, upgrade your accessories using the same procedure. Next, right-click on the item in your inventory you desire to upgrade and select the Upgrade button on the bottom left corner. The catch, however, is that it costs both gold and materials to upgrade any item.

Improving your weapons and armor is a surefire way to increase your character’s strength in Diablo 4. Regardless, the upgrade process becomes more expensive as you move further into the game. The elevated stats are well worth the extra expense, however, as they enable you to face more formidable foes.

Here is how to upgrade the items in Diablo 4:

  1. Locate the Blacksmith or the Jeweler NPC to upgrade your equipment.
  2. Select the “Upgrade Weapons and Armor” or “Upgrade Jewelry” tab on the NPC window’s top.
  3. Right-Click on the gear, accessory, or weapon for upgrading in your inventory or worn gear.
  4. Select the Upgrade button from the left-hand side of the NPC window.
  5. You’ve successfully upgraded your equipment, accessories, or weapons in Diablo 4!

Scaling any item in Diablo 4 with an upgrade depends on the item’s power, rarity, current level, and type. Besides, the amount and type of materials and gold required are contingent upon the item’s upgrade level. Whenever you select an item for upgrading, you can hover over the “UPGRADED ITEM” to view the improvement in its statistics after raising the upgrade level by 1.
