Gargoyles Remastered’s spruced-up 16-bit platforming is out in October

Remember the classic 16-bit Disney platformer Gargoyles from 1995? Well, it’s making a comeback! Disney has confirmed that the previously announced remaster of Gargoyles will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 19th. So, get ready to relive the nostalgia!

If you’ve never heard of Gargoyles before, it’s probably because it was only released officially in North America on the Sega Genesis. Fun fact: it was originally intended to be released on the Super Nintendo, but that plan got scrapped. Fortunately, now everyone can experience the game!

Gargoyles Remastered, developed by Empty Clip Studios, brings back the beloved 16-bit visuals of the original game. However, it also offers a new art style inspired by the cartoon. Although, personally, I don’t think it captures the same charm.

Aside from the updated visuals and remastered soundtrack, Gargoyles Remastered also introduces some quality of life improvements. Players can now enjoy instant rewind, wide-screen support, and achievements. These additions make playing as the protagonist, Goliath, in the side-scrolling adventures around Manhattan even more enjoyable.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on Gargoyles Remastered, it will be priced at £12.49/$14.99 USD on its release date for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (available on Steam and GOG). For those who prefer physical copies, Limited Run Games will be releasing a physical version for consoles as well.
