How to cross-save in Honkai Star Rail

The latest game by HoYoverse, Honkai Star Rail, just released today, and plenty of Genshin Impact fans have jumped on board. With the game being free-to-play and currently available on both PC and mobile devices, players should have little to no trouble accessing it and seeing what surprises HoYoverse has in store this time. And thanks to this ease of accessibility, players can easily switch between the PC and mobile versions of the game if they so choose. Having said that, those planning to do so may wonder if and how they can carry save data from one version to another. Fortunately, Honkai Star Rail has cross-save functionality built right in, and this guide will show you how to make use of it.

What to do to cross-save in Honkai Star Rail

Using the cross-save feature in Honkai Star Rail fortunately only takes a handful of simple steps. First, turn on the game on your preferred platform, log in to your HoyoVerse, Facebook, or Twitter account, and choose your region. Then, play through however much of the game you feel like. You don’t need to worry about manual saves, as the always-online nature of the game means that everything will automatically save to your account.

After your play session, close the game and boot it up again on another device. Log into the same account you used for the version you played previously and select your region again. If you entered all of your information correctly, you will successfully transfer all of the progress you made before.

Keep in mind that the cross-save functionality in Honkai Star Rail does have a restriction in place. Namely, the game does not allow you to play through one account on multiple versions at once. This shouldn’t present a problem for the vast majority of players, however. so cross-saving will likely be relatively smooth for you.
