Japanese Charts: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom’s Strong Sales Continue Into Week Two

Here are the top ten best-selling Japanese video games as of this week. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has claimed the top spot, followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet is in fourth place, while Minecraft has moved up to fifth place. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 3, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection and Nintendo Switch Sports also made it to the top ten.

On the hardware side, the Switch OLED Model is still dominating sales, resulting in more than double the sales of the PlayStation 5, with the rest of the Switch family falling behind. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is currently in fifth place, followed by PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and New 2DS LL. Even with PlayStation 5 trailing, it is still selling well and we would not be surprised if it climbed to the top soon.

Based on the current yearly schedule of both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Sony’s release could take the lead in few months. We’ll have to wait and see if there will be any major changes in the coming months as we are expecting several new video games to be released.
