FunPlus joins 2023 Green Game Jam

FunPlus, the famed mobile game maker, is participating in the 2023 Green Game Jam running from June 1 to June 7, in conjunction with World Environment Day on June 4. The Green Game Jam is an annual event set up by ‘Playing for the Planet’, whose primary objective is to raise awareness among players on environmental matters.

FunPlus has launched a campaign, ‘The Apocalypse is Already Happening to Animals,’ to coincide with being a part of the Green Game Jam. The game developer wants to use its efficacy in encouraging players to take deliberate steps that will lead to a greener future beyond raising awareness.

Throughout the game’s player experience, participants will witness the consequences of wildfire and deforestation in Amazon, one of the planet’s most diverse ecosystems. Playing the game will give players a first-hand perspective of the destruction faced by animals and plants living in this part of the world.

FunPlus believes that its participation in the Green Game Jam represents a huge improvement in their commitment to social responsibility. “Our participation in the Green Game Jam represents a significant step forward in our commitment to social responsibility,” said FunPlus chief business officer Chris Petrovic.

Under the Green Game Jam campaign, State of Survival will feature in-game messaging that encourages players to support environmental sustainability efforts by fostering empathy and urgency that FunPlus hopes will inspire players to action.

UN environment chief of youth, education, & advocacy and co-founder of the Playing for the Planet Alliance, Sam Barratt, acknowledging the immense impact and broad reach of the games industry, congratulated the games industry giant on its proactive approach to environmental conservation.

We listed FunPlus as one of the top 50 mobile game makers of 2022.
