Capcom Showcase Announced for Summer Game Fest

Capcom is set to join the Summer Game Fest festivities, announcing a special showcase scheduled for June 12 at 3 p.m. PT, as reported by the Summer Game Fest Twitter account.

The company did not reveal much, leaving fans on the edge of their seats about what to expect during the upcoming showcase event. But from what we know so far, Capcom fans might have reason to be excited. Among the games set to be released by Capcom in the near future, such as the Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective port and Exoprimal, we might be looking at a few possibilities of the company’s next big reveal at the showcase.

Possible Appearances

Given Capcom’s track record, Dragon’s Dogma 2, which was only teased at the PlayStation Showcase, is reportedly one of the potential titles to appear. Street Fighter 6 fans have cause for excitement as the first downloadable content (DLC) character, Rashid, is slated for release this summer and could make an appearance during the showcase.

Capcom might also unveil the rumored Resident Evil 4 remake DLC featuring Ada Wong, or something else related to its PlayStation VR2 mode. Meanwhile, on the distant horizon, alongside Pragmata which should be released in 2023, fans of the game could also get a sneak peek into what to expect from this highly anticipated game.

Leaked Event Confirmed

Although the official announcement was released on Twitter, the event was leaked beforehand by the Capcom Europe Facebook account, who posted the event details a few hours earlier than Capcom’s official announcement. It noted that the stream would be 36 minutes long, something that was not mentioned by Capcom during the official reveal.

Capcom has been tapping into its vast catalogue of various collections, remakes, and new entries in long-running franchises, keeping fans on tenterhooks about what’s to come. Among its most long-awaited games, Dino Crisis holds, which Sony PlayStation fans are expecting to make an appearance at the showcase. However, this is pure speculation at best, and we will have to wait until Saturday, June 12, to find out what Capcom has up its sleeve!
