New Frostpunk 2 Trailer Teases A Reborn Oil Rush, Release Window Set For 2024

11 Bit Studios Announces Upcoming Release of Frostpunk 2 and Debuts New Trailer

11 Bit Studios, the developer behind Frostpunk, has recently announced that Frostpunk 2 will be launching in 2024 for PC. The city-building sequel will be set 30 years after the original game, where humanity narrowly managed to survive through a new ice age. In its new era of expansion, the drive to expand beyond the borders of The City will require vast supplies of oil to keep the fires going.

As with the first game and its expansions, Frostpunk 2 will focus on taming a world covered in ice. But this time, people have changed, and the bonding instinct of survival has faded away. Players will face tough decisions if they want to see their community grow and survive.

According to Frostpunk 2’s co-director Jakub Stokalski, the game will be more than just a mere sequel. With a bigger team working on the sequel, 11 Bit Studios is now able to focus on delivering a follow-up that has a grander scale and improved design:

“Our ambition is to do more than a straight-up sequel… What we aim to deliver to players is an experience that goes vastly beyond that of the original Frostpunk.”

Frostpunk was very well-received when it first launched in 2018 on PC, selling three million copies and later making its way to console. The game has also received three DLC packs after launch. Its final expansion, On The Edge, was released in August of 2020.

Stay tuned for more updates on Frostpunk 2 as its 2024 release date approaches.
