Rescue the Wellkeeper in Ember Grounds

Begin your journey by locating the wellkeeper in the second dungeon, Ember Grounds. Unfortunately, the wellkeeper is held captive by monsters. Your goal is to find the key and unlock the cage so you can set him free. Follow the icon on the map to locate the key, retrieve it, and bring it back to the wellkeeper’s cage. Once freed, the wellkeeper will retreat to the level hub.

Upon visiting the wellkeeper in the level hub, you’ll discover that you can purchase gear from him. However, he will only offer merchandise if you have already found it during your runs.

During your dungeon exploration, you’ll encounter mini-boss enemies. Defeating these enemies will reward you with three random pieces of equipment to choose from. If you come across a piece that you have not claimed before, make sure to select it. Once you have chosen the new equipment, head to the nearest well, indicated by an on-screen bucket icon. Remember, you can only return one piece of new equipment using the well on a particular run.

Visit the Wellkeeper in the Level Hub

When you finish your run and return to the level hub, make sure to visit the wellkeeper. He will now have the new equipment available for purchase. Keep in mind that the gear can be quite expensive, such as the Collar of Confidence for 8,000 gold or the Iron Ring for 4,000 gold. However, any gear you buy from the wellkeeper is permanently yours, even if you die while wearing it.

Additionally, you have the option to equip multiple types of equipment at once. Check the Item Stash treasure chest next to the wellkeeper to update your loadout. Creating a balanced and powerful loadout will greatly increase your chances of success in the more challenging areas. And don’t forget to invest your gold in character upgrades that complement your retrieved equipment for longer runs and greater rewards.
