The MX Guardian: Unleashing Havoc with an Auto Shotgun
The MX Guardian is a force to be reckoned with in close-quarters combat and a game-changer in Season 4 Reloaded. Shotguns are intimidating on their own, but when they’re fully automatic, they become downright terrifying. The MX Guardian is a fully automatic shotgun that can be a hit marker machine even without attachments. However, with the right build, this weapon can reach its full potential and enable a “spray and pray” playstyle typically reserved for SMGs. Whether you’re a shotgun enthusiast or not, I highly recommend building the MX Guardian. It’s incredibly powerful and can make a significant impact on the battlefield. The Best MX Guardian Build for MW2 and Warzone 2

The MX Guardian offers a wide range of attachment possibilities, but the build I’m about to share has brought me the most success. Let’s dive into the details and explore a few flexible attachment slots:
MX Guardian Attachments:
- Barrel: HYP-LM
- Muzzle: SA MX-50
- Underbarrel: Bruen Warrior Grip
- Magazine: MX Pro Mag
- Laser: Hipshot L20
The HYP-LM Barrel is a game-changer for the MX Guardian. It provides crucial bonuses to Damage Range and Hipfire Accuracy, while also granting Bullet Velocity and Recoil Control as added benefits.
The SA MX-50 is the “best in slot” Muzzle attachment for this build. It not only enhances Damage Range but also offers Sound Suppression and Bullet Velocity. If you have exceptional accuracy, you might consider the Bryson Improved Choke, which tightens the pellet spread. However, I find that the Suppression and Velocity provided by the SA MX-50 outweigh the benefits of a tighter spread.
When it comes to Underbarrel attachments, the Bruen Warrior Grip is my go-to choice. It significantly improves Hipfire potential without negatively affecting other stats that aren’t important for this build. If you’re open to experimentation, the VX Pineapple and OP-X9 Foregrip also provide similar buffs.

Unfortunately, the MX Guardian doesn’t have extended magazines. However, the MX Pro Mag is a great alternative. It boosts ADS Speed and, most importantly, Sprint to Fire Speed. Being able to instantly draw your weapon from a sprint can give you a significant advantage in gunfights.
Lastly, let’s talk about the laser attachment. This is a flexible spot where you can customize the build to your liking. The Hipshot L20 laser provides improved Hip Recoil Control and Hip Fire Accuracy at the cost of a visible laser beam. If visibility bothers you, the Stovl Tac Laser is a suitable alternative. And if you’re not a fan of lasers at all, you can opt for the Stream-SK Rear Grip, which enhances Sprint to Fire Speed even further.
Are the Other Ammo Types Worth Considering?
I’ve experimented with the other ammunition types, but I still find the default option to be the most consistent. However, if you’re adventurous, the Slugs can be fantastic and eliminate enemies at incredible distances. If you prefer not to use lasers and have an extra attachment slot to spare, give the Slugs a try and see how they work for you.
