Mortal Kombat 1 Adds Three More Characters, Leaked DLC Fighters Including Homelander Confirmed

NetherRealm Studios Announces New Characters and DLC for Mortal Kombat 1

NetherRealm Studios made an exciting announcement at San Diego Comic-Con, revealing new characters and downloadable content (DLC) for the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1. During the hour-long panel, the studio unveiled Li Mei, Tanya, and Baraka as part of the main roster. Additionally, they confirmed the inclusion of six rumored DLC characters, including three super-powered guests.

Li Mei, who hasn’t been playable in an MK game since the PlayStation 2 era, will be returning to the series. Fans will be delighted to know that she will be voiced by her original voice actor, Kelly Hu, known for her recent portrayal of D’Vorah in MK11. Baraka and Tanya, who made appearances in MK11 and MKX respectively, were also showcased as playable characters in the thrilling trailer.

The panel also confirmed the leak from earlier this summer surrounding Kombat Pack 1, the first DLC pack for Mortal Kombat 1. Amazon Italy had inadvertently revealed the contents of the pack through its listing of the game’s Premium Edition, which includes Kombat Pack 1.

The highly anticipated DLC pack will feature the following six characters:

  • Quan Chi
  • Ermac
  • Takeda
  • Peacemaker (guest character from DC Comics)
  • Omni-Man (guest character from Invincible)
  • Homelander (guest character from The Boys)

These three superheroes join previously released MK guest characters such as Terminator, RoboCop, Rambo, and Predator. Peacemaker will be the second DC Comics representative to appear in a mainline Mortal Kombat game, following The Joker’s appearance in MK11.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on September 19 for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
