Sony PlayStation 5 Surpasses 40 Million Unit Sales

It’s worth noting that Horizon Call of the Mountain, also released this year, is a first-party game exclusive to PSVR2.

Impact of Third-Party Games

While there may have been a shortage of first-party releases, the arrival of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XVI last month exclusively on PS5 undoubtedly bolstered console sales. Although not a first-party game, the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, set to receive its own special limited edition PS5 console bundle, is expected to further drive hardware sales.
