The 50th anniversary of hip-hop celebration is this weekend, and Call of Duty is joining in on the festivities with a special social media challenge.

Call of Duty’s official social media accounts have announced the Open Verse Challenge on their TikTok account. Fans are invited to participate by submitting their videos of rapping or performing over a hip-hop-inspired beat using in-game sound effects from Call of Duty.

Unique Beat from Game Sound Effects

Participants can create their beats using various in-game sound effects, including zippers, tools beeping, parachutes being pulled, and more. To add to the excitement, Call of Duty has partnered with popular TikTok creators Zaehd, Flawless, and Kenny to collaboratively create songs celebrating this beloved genre.

Celebrating with Famous Hip-Hop Artists

Call of Duty is not only hosting the Open Verse Challenge but also paying homage to hip-hop by featuring famous artists within the game. Fans can look forward to seeing Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg as playable characters in the game’s new season. Furthermore, next month, rapper 21 Savage will be joining the roster as his own unique Operator. These Operators will even carry over to the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which will be showcased next week.
