How To Rescue Grand Duke Ravengard In Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

First, it’s important to know that Grand Duke Ravengard is Wyll’s father, and Wyll’s Pact with Mizora plays a key role in saving him. With that in mind, here’s what you need to do:

Wyll’s Pact with Mizora in Baldur’s Gate 3

In Act 3, you’ll visit Wyrm’s Fortress for Lord Gortash’s Proclamation. During the Proclamation, you’ll find Grand Duke Ravengard in the throne room. He’ll ask for help, and Mizora will show up at your camp, giving you two options:

  • Break the Pact and let Grand Duke Ravengard die.
  • Save Grand Duke Ravengard by pledging Wyll’s soul to Mizora.

It’s important not to miss attending Gortash’s Proclamation at Wyrm’s Fortress.

Where to Find Grand Duke Ravengard in BG3

Grand Duke Ravengard is held captive in an underwater prison called Iron Throne. To reach him, head to Flymm’s Cargo located on the southwestern side of the Lower City. Look for a locked door at coordinates (X:-172, Y:- 149), and use the Lockpick technique to unlock it. Once inside, follow these steps to rescue Grand Duke Ravengard:

  1. Move the crates to reveal the entrance to Flymm’s Cargo Basement.
  2. In the basement, make your way to the Subaquatic Dock and interact with Redhammer the Deviser.
  3. During the conversation with Redhammer, convince or intimidate him to use the Submersible and reach Iron Throne.
  4. Despite a warning from Gortash, continue to Iron Throne.
  5. Once there, you’ll have limited time and moves to free the prisoners. Focus on saving Duke Ravengard, as time is of the essence.
  6. Ravengard is imprisoned in cells on the eastern side of Iron Throne.

After you’ve found Grand Duke Ravengard, bring him back to the Submersible to rescue him. Mizora may appear and make Ravengard kneel, but it won’t affect the outcome. After the rescue, Ravengard will join your camp. Make sure to praise Wyll and choose dialogues that highlight his bravery. Grand Duke Ravengard will become your ally and assist you in future battles.
