When Is the Next Double XP Event?
The next Double XP event for MW2 and Warzone will begin on August 17 at 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET / 5:30pm BST. This event coincides with the Shadow Siege event in Al Mazrah, where Modern Warfare 3 will be revealed. It will also be a ‘triple double’ XP event, offering double Player XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass XP.
Warzone 2 & MW2 Double XP Events Explained
In Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, players earn three types of XP: Rank XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass XP.
- Rank XP – Represents the player’s rank. Players earn XP towards ranking up by completing challenges and performing well in matches.
- Weapon XP – Relates to the level of specific weapons. Using weapons earns XP, unlocking camos, attachments, and more.
- Battle Pass XP – Relates to the seasonal Battle Pass level. XP is earned by completing challenges, unlocking Battle Pass Tokens.
Double XP events reward players with twice as much XP as the default rate. Some events double only one type of XP, while others double multiple or all types. The previous weekend in Warzone 2 and MW2 doubled all types of XP.
Best Game Modes & Loadouts for Double XP
Frenetic, fast-paced game modes like 10v10 Moshpit, Hardpoint, and Shipment / Shoot House 24/7 offer the most XP in multiplayer. In Warzone 2, modes like Resurgence, with more engagements, are ideal.
For loadouts, focus on using weapons you want to level up. Double Weapon XP will unlock attachments and camos faster and facilitate customization of your loadouts.
