The Like a Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth special trial version is seemingly a prologue

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has announced that players who purchase Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will have the opportunity to access a special trial version of the highly anticipated Like a Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth. This “special trial version” will showcase a scene that won’t be present in the final version of Infinite Wealth, making it a unique experience for players.

Once players have completed the campaign of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, they will be able to unlock the demo of Like a Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth. It’s worth noting that Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama has confirmed that the scenes featuring both Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu will not be included in Infinite Wealth, indicating that the demo serves as a prologue to the main game.

In a recent developer update, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio shared a seven-minute overview trailer of The Man Who Erased His Name. The trailer dives into the game’s story, which takes place after the legendary Kazuma Kiryu fakes his own death and assumes a new identity. However, he is unwillingly pulled back into a life of crime when a rival gang threatens his family, operating under the codename “Joryu”.

Combat styles and side activities in The Man Who Erased His Name

The trailer also provides a detailed breakdown of the game’s combat styles, previously leaked in June. There are two distinct styles available to players. Agent style focuses on high-tech gadgets, offering speed, precision, and the ability to take down multiple enemies simultaneously. Yakuza style, on the other hand, represents the traditional street fighting style with aggressively powerful moves. Players have the flexibility to switch between these styles based on the situation.

In addition to combat, the trailer showcases various side activities within the game. Players can enjoy a variety of experiences, including a “deadliest battle arena tournament ever,” a cabaret club, karaoke, golf, darts, pocket racing, retro arcade machines, and billiards. These activities can be explored at the player’s leisure when the digital-only game launches on November 9.
