Publisher Playstack and developer 2Awesome have announced that the highly anticipated game AK-xolotl will be available on consoles and Switch starting September. This exciting top-down roguelike shooter featuring a cute yet formidable axolotl will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on September 14.

The release date for AK-xolotl was unveiled during the recent Future Games Show presentation, where a brand new trailer showcased more of the game’s thrilling gameplay. The trailer displayed the axolotl’s journey through the animal kingdom, with its retro-inspired visual style and action-packed combat.

In conjunction with this announcement, a new extended demo of AK-xolotl is now available on Steam. Rob Crossley, the Vice President of Publishing at Playstack, shared that the previously released demo received nearly 70,000 downloads. Based on player feedback, 2Awesome has made significant enhancements and introduced exciting new features in the final game. While some of these features are showcased in the demo, others await players in the full release.

AK-xolotl boasts five distinct biomes, each filled with various enemies, as well as a wide array of weapons and power-ups. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to find and raise numerous Axolittles while battling challenging bosses.
