Helldivers 2 Delayed, Set to Launch in February 2024
The highly anticipated game Helldivers 2 has experienced a delay and will now be released on February 8, 2024, for PS5 and PC via Steam.
As the sequel to the popular 2015 top-down game Helldivers, which was initially available for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, Helldivers 2 is a third-person squad-based shooter. The announcement of the game was made in May, initially targeting a late 2023 release. However, fans will have to wait a little longer as the launch has been pushed to early next year.
During the recent State of Play livestream on September 14, developer Arrowhead Game Studios treated fans to a brand-new trailer which featured a playable mission. The footage showcased cooperative multiplayer gameplay with the development team and provided a glimpse of the game’s exciting features, including alien creatures and a formidable boss known as the Bile Titan. Helldivers 2 offers online co-op multiplayer, allowing players to team up with three friends. Together, they can explore unique planets, tackle objectives, and make use of the deep progression system to upgrade their equipment, as described in a PlayStation blog post.
Pre-orders for both the Standard Edition and the Super Citizen Edition will be available starting September 22. The Super Citizen Edition offers additional content, including a digital copy of the game, the DP-53 Savior of the Free armor set, and the Will of the People cape to complete the character’s look.
Furthermore, the Super Citizen Edition includes the powerful MP-98 Knight submachine gun, capable of tearing through bots, bugs, and other Helldivers. However, caution is advised as friendly fire is a risk. Additionally, players will receive the Super Citizen status for their character and access to the Stratagem Hero add-on, a minigame that can be played while idling in the game lobby.
Players who purchase the Super Citizen Edition will also gain access to the Premium Warbond content for Steeled Veterans and receive preorder bonuses. For more details on these bonuses, visit the PlayStation blog.
