The Pinocchio-Inspired Soulslike Game “Lies Of P” Now Available on Xbox Game Pass
The release calendar for 2023 continues with an unexpected surprise. Neowiz Games and Round 8 Studios have released their Pinocchio-themed Soulslike action game, “Lies Of P,” earlier than anticipated, and it is now available on Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox vice president of games marketing, Aaron Greenberg, took to X to make the announcement. He shared an image of the game accompanied by the message, “Surprise! Lies Of P is available to play now on Xbox Game Pass!” Originally scheduled for launch on September 19, the game has become a day one addition to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
In “Lies Of P,” players assume the role of Pinocchio, a robotic “puppet” on a quest to find his creator, Geppetto, while facing off against other puppets and humans. What sets Pinocchio apart from other puppets in the game’s world is his ability to lie, which he must utilize strategically as he navigates the dangerous city of Krat.
The game launched on Xbox and Steam at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. The PlayStation 5 version is set to unlock at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET tonight. GameSpot’s official review commends the game’s action-packed gameplay, stating, “With its bleak reimagining of Pinocchio and a stunning Belle Epoque era setting, Lies of P stands apart even when its gameplay relies on imitation.”
“Lies Of P” is the latest noteworthy addition to the Xbox Game Pass library, joining the ranks of recent day-one releases like “Sea Of Stars,” “Starfield,” and “Solar Ash.” However, on September 15, the service bid farewell to nine games, including notable departures like “Metal: Hellsinger” and “Civilization 6.”
