To acquire the Lost Memento in Destiny 2, you must participate in the ongoing Festival of the Lost event. This limited-time event introduces the Lost Memento, a special item that can only be obtained during Festival of the Lost. After the event ends, the Lost Memento will no longer be available.

In order to unlock the Lost Memento, you must complete three hidden steps found on the Twilight Triumph screen within the Festival of the Lost Triumph:

  • Step 1: Complete the Fallen Saber Strike while wearing the Clovis Bray Mask.
  • Step 2: Defeat 100 enemies on Neomuna while wearing the Nimbus Mask.
  • Step 3: Perform 25 Finishers on enemies in any Legend Haunted Lost Sector while wearing the Tormentor Mask. It does not need to be completed in a single run.

The Festival of the Lost event card contains the necessary masks for these steps. Completing various tasks, such as eliminating Headless Ones in Haunted Sectors, will reward you with these masks. Once you have completed the Twilight Triumph, you will immediately receive the Lost Memento.

Similar to other Mementos in the game, you can only hold one Lost Memento at a time. To utilize it, you must apply it to one of your crafted weapons. The Lost Memento is accompanied by the Twilight Keepsake shader, also known as the “The Super Black” shader for Destiny 1 veterans.

Should you desire more copies of the Lost Memento, you must participate in Haunted Sectors and obtain “Eerie Engrams.” These engrams can be deciphered by Eva Levante back at the Tower, giving you a chance to receive a new Lost Memento.

However, the drop rate for the Lost Memento seems to be low. Additionally, it is important to note that if you already have a Lost Memento in your inventory, you will not be able to acquire another one until you apply the one you already have to a weapon.
