Old School RuneScape (OSRS) – How to Get to Canifis

How to Reach Canifis in Old School RuneScape

In the eerie lands of Morytania, located in the far east of Gielinor, players will encounter terrifying creatures such as vampyres, ghouls, and spirits. Canifis is the main town associated with Morytania in Old School RuneScape (OSRS), and it is the first city that most players come across when they reach the River Salve. In order to explore Morytania and reach Canifis, there are certain requirements that need to be met. This guide will provide you with the minimum requirements to access Canifis and various methods of reaching it!

How to Get to Canifis in OSRS

In order to reach Canifis, players in Old School RuneScape must first complete the “Priest in Peril” quest, which grants access to Morytania as a whole. This beginner-level quest provides players with some background information about Paterdomus, the temple that acts as a barrier between the unholy lands of Morytania and the rest of Gielinor. The quest does not have any skill requirements, but players will need to defeat two level-30 enemies during its course.

Walking from Paterdomus

Once the “Priest in Peril” quest is completed, players gain entry into Morytania. From Paterdomus, follow the path eastward to reach Canifis on foot. Walking from Paterdomus to Canifis is the most direct route, but there are other faster methods available that require additional requirements.

Ectophial Teleport

Players who have completed the “Ghosts Ahoy” quest will receive an Ectophial with unlimited teleports to the Ectofuntus, located north of Port Phasmatys. From there, players can simply run west, passing Dr. Fekenstrain’s castle, to reach Canifis. This teleport method is commonly used due to the relatively easy quest and the convenience it offers to travel to Morytania from any location. After each teleport, players must refill their Ectophial at the Ectofuntus.

Slayer Tower Teleport

For those who have unlocked the ability to create Slayer Rings, a teleport charge can be used to reach the Slayer Tower. From there, players can run southeast to Canifis. Slayer Rings can be obtained for 75 Slayer reward points from any Slayer Master, or players can unlock the ability to craft them themselves for 300 Slayer reward points. Crafting level 75 is also required to make them.

Using Fairy Rings

Fairy Rings provide yet another convenient method of travel throughout Gielinor. Players who have partially completed the “Fairytale Part II – Cure a Queen” quest can use the Fairy Ring code CKS to teleport directly near Canifis.

Kharyrll Teleport

The fastest way to reach Canifis is by using a Kharyrll Teleport, which instantly takes players to the pub inside Canifis. There are several ways to access this teleport: by using a Kharyrll teleport portal in another player’s Player-Owned House, casting the spell themselves (requires 66 Magic and completion of the “Desert Treasure I” quest), or using a Kharyrll teleport tablet purchased from the Grand Exchange. This teleport method is commonly used by newer players starting their Barrows runs. For more information, refer to our comprehensive guide on completing your first Barrows run.
