Guide: How to Obtain the Wonder Seeds in Angry Spikes and Sinkin’ Pipes

If you’re playing Super Mario Bros. Wonder and struggling to find the important Wonder Seed collectibles in certain levels, we’re here to help. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get both Wonder Seeds in the Angry Spikes and Sinkin’ Pipes level.

Spike, a beloved enemy character that debuted in Super Mario Bros. 3, makes a prominent appearance in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. However, they haven’t been seen very often in the Mario universe since then. One of the most memorable appearances of Spike is as a playable character in Mario Party 10. Now, they’re back in action in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, specifically in a level where you may find yourself searching for Wonder Seeds. To obtain the Wonder Seeds in the Angry Spikes and Sinkin’ Pipes level, you’ll need to take a risky action that may seem like it will lead to your character’s demise.

Wonder Seed #1

If you’re running through the stage for the first time, you might miss the first Wonder Seed. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. The first Wonder Seed is located past the halfway point of the stage, to the right of some bricks and a POW block. Look for a pipe positioned next to a series of music note blocks. This pipe has a flower on it. Stand on the pipe and let it slowly sink into the pit. The flower will give you a hint, saying, “This pipe – it can’t hold us!” Don’t pay attention to the flower’s concerns. Descend to the bottom of the screen and you’ll enter a secret hidden area.

In the hidden area, you’ll encounter a Spikey Dance Number, where a row of pipes acts as a lift. As you ascend, watch out for Spike enemies that throw spiked balls at you from both sides of the chamber. If you’re playing as Elephant Mario, you can use your trunk to hit the spiked balls back at your enemies. This is much easier than trying to dodge them. At the top of the ride, you’ll find the first Wonder Seed.

Wonder Seed #2

Finding the second Wonder Seed is a lot simpler. In fact, you can’t miss it if you successfully complete the stage. After bringing the flag down the pole at the end of the level, a retainer will emerge from the Flower House and hand over the Wonder Seed.
