New Features and Experiences

We have some exciting news for Alpha users in the Xbox Update Preview!

Notifications – Store

In this update, we’re introducing a new wish list notification specifically for “Wish list item Free Play Days”. This means that you will receive notifications when games on your wish list are available to play during Xbox Free Play Days. You can customize how and if you see these notifications by going to Settings > Preferences > Notifications > Xbox notifications > Store.

Fixes Implemented

Thanks to the hard work of our Xbox engineers, we’re happy to announce that the following fixes have been made in this build:

Apps

• Fixes have been applied to address an issue where some apps would unexpectedly close shortly after launching or fail to launch as expected (error 0x80070005).

My Games & Apps

• An issue has been fixed where some users were unable to install games as expected from the game management page.

System

• Various updates have been made to properly reflect local languages across the console. Please note that users participating in the Preview may temporarily encounter “odd” text throughout the console. Refer to this link for more information.

Known Issues

We acknowledge that some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. Rest assured, our Xbox engineers are diligently working to find solutions to these issues.

Audio

• We have received reports of intermittent audio issues across the dashboard, games, and apps. If you have experienced these issues, please ensure that you have the latest firmware updates for your TV and other equipment. If the problem persists after applying the updates, consider contacting the manufacturer for further assistance. If you’re still facing audio problems, please submit feedback via Report a Problem with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option. Select the “Console experiences” category and choose “Console Audio Output Issues”. Provide as much information as possible regarding the issue, including when it started, whether the audio loss was limited to a specific game/app or affected the entire system, any changes to the audio format, the results of rebooting, and details about your setup and equipment layout.

Keyboard Button Mapping for Xbox Controllers

• If you change your keyboard language settings while the Xbox Accessories app is open, the changes will take effect after you exit the app or reboot your console.

Networking

• We are currently investigating reports of a network connectivity issue where the console may not connect to the network as expected during startup. If you encounter this problem, please report it via Report a Problem as soon as possible.

Make sure to use Report a Problem to keep us informed of any issues you encounter. While we may not be able to respond to everyone individually, the data we gather from your reports is crucial for finding resolutions.
