Greetings, Xbox Insiders! We are pleased to inform you that a new Xbox Update Preview is on its way to the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring. In these preview builds, we focus on making background improvements to ensure a high-quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.
Even when there are minimal noticeable changes to the UI, we continue to share these release notes to keep you informed about updates coming to your device. Check out the details below!
System Update Details:
- OS version released: RS_XBOX_DEV_FLIGHT25979.1002.231019-2000
- Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 23, 2023
- Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 24, 2023
Fixes Implemented
We are pleased to announce that the following fixes have been implemented for this build, thanks to the hard work of Xbox engineers:
Captures
- Fixed an unexpected error indicating there is not enough space when recording clips to an external drive.
Controller
- Fixes to address the Share button not behaving as expected.
System
- Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Known Issues
We understand that some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. Rest assured, these items are not being ignored. However, it may take more time for Xbox engineers to find a solution.
Audio
- We have received reports of users experiencing intermittent issues with audio across the dashboard, games, and apps. If you have experienced these issues, make sure you have the latest firmware updates for your TV and other equipment. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
- Note: If the issue persists after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Be sure to include as much information as possible:
- When did the issue start?
- Did you lose audio only in the game/app or also system audio?
- Does changing the audio format resolve the issue? If yes, what was the original format and the changed format?
- Does rebooting resolve the issue?
- What does your setup include? Equipment, layout, etc.
- And any additional information you can provide to reproduce the problem.
- Note: If the issue persists after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Be sure to include as much information as possible:
Games
- We have received reports of issues with in-game party management in some titles, and we are currently investigating.
Keyboard Button Mapping for Xbox Controllers
- If you change your keyboard language settings while the Xbox Accessories app is open, the change will be reflected after quitting the app or rebooting your console.
Networking
- We are currently investigating reports of an issue where the console may not connect to the network as expected on boot. If you experience this issue, be sure to report it via Report a Problem as soon as possible.
Please use Report a problem to keep us informed of your issues. While we may not be able to respond to everyone, the data we gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
