Diversion3 Entertainment, known for their work on Friday the 13th: The Game and Evil Dead: The Game, is teaming up with New Regency Pictures to create a video game adaptation of the highly acclaimed 2022 horror film, Barbarian. The game is currently in development for both console and PC platforms, as reported by Bloody-Disgusting.

“Expanding on the settings, characters, and creatures of Barbarian,” said Tim Hesse of Diversion3, the game’s details are still under wraps and the announcement has left fans of the movie speculating about how the thrilling storyline will translate into a game.

Zach Cregger, the writer and director of Barbarian, gained recognition for his work as a founding member of the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’ Know. The film received critical acclaim, leading Cregger to secure a lucrative deal for his next project, Weapons, starring Pedro Pascal from The Last of Us and Game of Thrones.

Often collaborating with Trevor Moore, another member of The Whitest Kids U’ Know, Cregger co-wrote and co-directed the low-budget film Miss March in 2009. Tragically, Moore passed away in 2021.
