Mortal Kombat 1 to Introduce Cross-Play Feature Based on Fan Poll

Mortal Kombat 1, a popular fighting game on the Nintendo Switch, has been steadily improving with various patches addressing different aspects of the game. Responding to the feedback from fans, co-creator Ed Boon recently conducted a poll on social media to determine which online features players would like to see in the game.

In the poll, cross-play emerged as the clear winner, receiving 75.5% of the votes. Ed Boon shared the results on his Twitter account:

Cross-play has become an essential aspect of modern fighting games as it allows players from different platforms to compete against each other. This feature not only breaks down barriers but also extends the lifespan of games. NetherRealm, the developer of Mortal Kombat 1, had previously mentioned their plans to implement cross-play post-launch, without specifying a release date.

Additionally, Mortal Kombat 1 recently unveiled gameplay footage of the first DLC character, Omni-Man from the Invincible series. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of this new content.

What online features do players want?

In the poll conducted by Ed Boon, cross-play emerged as the most desired online feature for Mortal Kombat 1. Players expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to compete against opponents from different platforms. The implementation of cross-play is expected to enhance the gaming experience and foster a larger community of players.
