What Is Voice Reporting & How To Turn It On In Fortnite

Fortnite has long been known for offering valuable tools and features to its players. Among its latest offerings is the Voice Reporting feature, designed to combat toxicity among teammates. This feature records the latest 5 minutes of voice chat, allowing victims to report abusive behavior with evidence.

Although this feature is not enabled by default for most players, our guide will walk you through the steps to turn on Voice Reporting in Fortnite. We’ll also provide essential information to help you make the most of this feature, so be sure to read to the end.

How to Enable Voice Reporting Feature in Fortnite

  • First, launch Fortnite and enter the Settings menu.
  • Next, go to the Audio tab and find the Voice Chat section.

How To Turn On Voice Reporting In Fortnite

  • Toggle on the Voice Reporting in Fortnite.

The Voice Reporting feature in Fortnite offers two options: ‘Always On’ and ‘Off when Possible’. Here’s what these options mean:

  • Always On – The Voice Reporting feature will always be active with this setting.
  • Off When Possible – Voice Reporting will be inactive when all party members are friends. If any party member has ‘Always On’ selected, the entire party’s Voice Reporting will be enabled.

How Voice Reporting Works in Fortnite

When enabled, the Voice Reporting feature records the most recent 5 minutes of voice chat within a party. As new recordings are made, the previous ones are deleted on a rolling basis.

Note: Voice recordings are saved on the user’s device and not on the Epic Games server. Epic does not use voice recordings unless a player is reported.

It’s important to note that voice recordings sent to Epic Games are automatically deleted after 14 days. However, in the case of an appeal, the recording will be retained for a few additional days.

For players under 18, Voice Reporting is enabled by default. Players over 18 can customize this setting to ‘Always On’ or ‘Off When Possible.’
