Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass received a significant boost in 2023 with the addition of 150 games, totaling a value of over $5,000.
For those unfamiliar with Xbox Game Pass, it is a subscription-based service that offers a library of games added every month for members to enjoy. These titles cover a wide range of genres, including both classic releases and brand-new titles like Bethesda’s Starfield.
The subscription-based model provides tremendous value to users, allowing them to access games without the need to purchase each title at full price.
As the new year began, The Loadout conducted an analysis, revealing the substantial financial investment made by Microsoft in Xbox Game Pass in 2023, factoring in the cost of each game and item added to the service.
According to the data, Microsoft included 150 games with a combined value of $5,139.54 (£4,065.63 / AU$7,574.75) across Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the Cloud.
The Loadout also determined that when subtracting the total membership cost for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the net value of games added in 2023 equates to $4,935.66 (£3903.71 / AU$7342.11).
Analysis revealed that October 2023 was the most significant month for Game Pass in terms of value, with the addition of $604.86 worth of games, including Like A Dragon Ishin and F1 Manager 2023. On the other hand, September added $331.91 worth of games, despite high-profile launches like Starfield and Lies of P.
As a new month begins, Microsoft has announced the upcoming titles joining Xbox Game Pass in 2024 and confirmed the games that will be leaving the service this month.
