Old School RuneScape (OSRS) – How to Make Slayer Helm

Old School RuneScape: Crafting the Slayer Helm

For Old School RuneScape players, Slayer is one of the most challenging and thrilling skills in the game. Completing Slayer tasks allows players to face off against the toughest creatures and earn incredible gp per hour.

At the heart of Slayer lies the Slayer Helm, a crucial item that provides a significant boost to Melee accuracy and damage when facing Slayer creatures. Making the Slayer Helm involves a multistep process and requires several specific items.

Unlocking the Slayer Helm Recipe

Before crafting a Slayer Helm, players must first spend 400 Slayer Points to unlock the ability. This can be done at any Slayer Master by purchasing the “Malevolent Masquerade” reward from the Slayer Rewards Shop. Once unlocked, players gain the ability to craft the Slayer Helm.

Players can accumulate Slayer Points through various methods. One efficient approach is to use Turael in Burthorpe, a low-level master who offers tasks that are relatively easy to complete. Completing certain milestones, such as every 10th task, also grants players additional Slayer Points.

Another option involves exclusively working with a high-level Slayer Master like Konar, who provides more Slayer Points per task. However, Konar’s tasks come with specific requirements and locations, making them more challenging.

Once players have gathered 400 Slayer Points, they can unlock the “Malevolent Masquerade” reward and proceed to craft the Slayer Helm.

Crafting Requirements

To create a Slayer Helm, players need to combine several items, including the Black Mask, Spiny Helmet, Nose Peg, Earmuffs, and other specific items in certain situations.

Once combined, the Slayer Helm becomes an essential item for completing Slayer Tasks, offering increased accuracy and damage.

Customizing the Slayer Helm

Players have the option to personalize their Slayer Helm by changing its color and design using 1000 Slayer Reward points and an associated boss head. This cosmetic change does not impact the helm’s stats or bonuses and allows players to express their individuality.

Recolor Options Include:

  • Black Slayer Helm (“King Black Bonnet” Reward) – Kbd heads
  • Red Slayer Helm (“Unholy Helm” Reward) – Abyssal demon head
  • Green Slayer Helm (“Kalphite Khat” Reward) – Kalphite queen head
  • Purple Slayer Helm (“Dark Mantle” Reward) – Dark claws
  • Turquoise Slayer Helm (“Undead Head” Reward) – Vorkath head
  • Hydra Slayer Helm (“Use More Head” Reward) – Alchemical hydra heads
  • Twisted Slayer Helm (“Twisted Vision” Reward) – Twisted horns
