Call of Duty Season 2: New Content for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty’s Season 2 is on its way, and it brings with it exciting new content for both Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. Here’s a breakdown of all the major announcements for multiplayer, Zombies, and battle royale. This includes the introduction of four new weapons, a collaboration with The Walking Dead, and the return of Fortune’s Keep for Warzone.

Call of Duty Season 2 Start Times

Season 2 for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone is set to launch on Wednesday, February 7. The update is scheduled to go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

What to Expect from Season 2

Season 2 of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will feature a new battle pass that allows players to level up and unlock additional weapons and cosmetics. There will be both free and premium tiers of the pass, along with a $30 BlackCell bundle. The BlackCell operator showcased in this season’s pass comes with a skin that transitions from human to zombie and finally to a skeleton as the player accumulates kills.

Operators featured in the standard pass for this season include Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead and Kate Laswell from the rebooted Modern Warfare series. The free tiers of the pass will introduce the BP50 assault rifle and RAM-9 submachine gun as DLC weapons, with two more weapons arriving later in the season. Additionally, a zombies-themed event, The Walking Dead: Fear the Living, will take place from February 28 to March 6, allowing players to obtain zombies-themed cosmetics.

Season 2 roadmap

Warzone

Warzone’s Fortune’s Keep map, a fan favorite, is making a return in Season 2. It will bring a new Ranked Play Resurgence mode for trios, along with various visual changes and additions. The map will also include new extendable bridges, a score tracker for squad wipe streaks, and Zombies-themed content.

Modern Warfare 3

Season 2 will introduce several new maps to Modern Warfare 3, including Stash House, Vista, and Departures for standard 6v6 gameplay, as well as the Operation Tin Man map for the game’s large-scale War mode. More maps are expected to arrive later in the season, including a remastered version of the popular Das Haus map from Vanguard.

Five game modes are confirmed: Team Gun Game, Snipers Only, Hordepoint, Bounty, and the new Juggermosh mode. The update will also include a new season of Ranked Play multiplayer, as well as new challenges, events, and seasonal player progression. And while Zombies players will have to wait until the midseason update to get their new content, the announcements include a new Dark Aether story act, a second Dark Aether Rift, more schematics, and a new warlord boss to fight. Season 1 Reloaded is currently live, and this is the last chance to earn the cosmetics from The Boys event or score those Season 1 Ranked Play rewards in multiplayer.
