Looks like Netflix-exclusive Valiant Hearts: Coming Home headed to consoles

Valiant Hearts: Coming Home Rumored to Be Coming to Consoles

Valiant Hearts: Coming Home appears to be expanding its platform availability in the near future. Previously only available on Netflix for mobile devices, the First World War Ubisoft sequel is now rumored to be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This speculation comes from Brazil’s ratings board, as reported by VGC.

Described as a “dramatic narrative game,” Valiant Hearts: Coming Home follows the interweaving stories of James, Anna, Ernst, and George. In this sequel, Walt, the canine companion from the first game, returns to aid players in navigating these stories, which explore themes of friendship, survival, and sacrifice amidst the turmoil and tragedy of war.

Eurogamer has reached out to Ubisoft for comment on the game’s console ratings but has yet to receive a response.

This sequel follows the success of Valiant Hearts: The Great War, a game praised by our writer Christian Donlan as “strange, memorable, and often powerful.” Donlan’s review of the original game emphasized how it offered a unique perspective on war and its impact on humanity, despite its shortcomings as a traditional game.

“While Valiant Hearts struggles to make sense of itself as a game, in its odd, playful innocence and in its focus on four friends (and a dog) it at least offers a fleeting human perspective on a new kind of war that turned out to be far, far worse in its mechanized violence than anybody was quite expecting,” Donlan wrote in Eurogamer’s Valiant Hearts: The Great War review.
