Dead Cells Developer Evil Empire Announces Move On

Dead Cells, which was developed and released by Motion Twin in 2018, saw members of the team branch off to form Evil Empire. This new entity supported Dead Cells with new content for several years, including the notable Return to Castlevania DLC that added Castlevania content to the game.

This morning, the developer announced that it is officially time to move on. The full statement from the developer can be seen below:

Additionally, Evil Empire apologized for any broken controllers related to the Derelict Distillery addition and expressed appreciation for the ability to contribute so much to Dead Cells. The developer also mentioned that the Dead Cells team has been unleashed to work on secret projects, with details to be revealed soon. Evil Empire also wished luck to Motion Twin’s next announced project, Windblown, and hinted at the possibility of more than one project in the works.
