MultiVersus Returns with a New Look and Features
Exciting news for fans of MultiVersus – the Warner Bros. free-to-play crossover platform fighter is set to make its comeback on May 28. After almost a year since its open beta was taken offline, the game has been rebuilt and revamped for players to enjoy.
Enhancements and Updates
Game director Tony Huynh from Player First Games announced in a developer diary that MultiVersus has undergone a complete transformation in Unreal Engine 5. This overhaul means improved visuals, lighting, and a revamped netcode to ensure consistent online performance across all platforms.
Existing fighters have new attacks and combat mechanics, with Huynh hinting at upcoming additions to the roster. Concept art has teased new stages inspired by iconic locations like Townsville from The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter’s Laboratory.
Exciting PvE Mode
A brand-new PvE mode is also in the works for MultiVersus, offering players unique rewards and different ways to enjoy the game. Details are scarce at the moment, but Huynh promises an engaging experience for fans.
Game Updates and Return
Originally launched in open beta last year, MultiVersus features characters from Warner Bros. IPs like DC, Looney Tunes, and Game of Thrones in a Super Smash Bros.-style combat system. Despite initial popularity, the game faced a decline in engagement due to lack of updates and communication.
After addressing these issues, MultiVersus is set to return on various platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
